What Happens if You Never Take Your Dentures Out?
Author : Efrain E. Silva
You are probably wondering what would happen if you never take your dentures out. Hopefully you aren’t actually planning on doing this.
Answer - Here are some of the reasons you might worry about:
- Pneumonia causing bacteria that can make its way to your lungs causing big problems.
- Bacteria in general
- Gum disease
- Serious infection
- More
Have you ever wondered what might happen if, per say, you were to (accidentally, wink wink, not lazilly) leave your dentures in for a really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really (emphasis on the reallys), ridiculously (like Derek Zoolander might say) long time and not even take them out? Well, I am sure that you have asked this to your inner self, and have, at times, even been tempted to play it out and see what would happen. I do not judge you in the slightest bit as none of us here is really perfect — and I do hope that you have indeed been wondering more on this so that I can share with you my finds…and true treasures of knowledge and revelation they are. We are now about to take a quick look closer, so bring in some popcorn, put on some background music (that is, assuming you like to read good blogs like this one with a little noise in the background, or some pleasant, calming songs to add effect, he he heh, as well as with a good bowl of popcorn like you’re at the movies), and get ready for 10 minutes that can change your life, for that is all that it takes to read through to the end of this blog piece (unless you are a slow turtle of a reader, like my sister is…but either way, we don’t judge)…..
- WARNING - Don’t sleep with your dentures in.
Now when it comes right down, smack - dab to the very matter of keeping your dentures on 24 / 7, let me first tell you it is a massively BAD idea. And why is that? Well, gum disease can come about as can new bacteria that forms and grows on its own (right in the back), since you need to take out the dentures and properly clean them. But when you sleep, even, bacteria is forming and growing, setting up a strong army fortress of its own as a means to invade the rest of your body…no joke. You swallow, and when you do, that bacteria goes down into your organs, your stomach, your heart itself (you get the idea) and all other areas. It enters in through the mouth. Dental plaque accumulation, by the way, is another issue that will quickly spring up on you when you least know about it, like a deadly ninja with a sword, crawling in through your window at night in an attempt to steal all your valuable jewels, he he heh….(forgive me, I couldn’t resist making a very real contrast…you never know…it MIGHT happen)…..
Gum inflammation is another common issue that has been given birth through this. Just read the stats of cases in the U.S. So long story short, take your dentures out and clean them every single day.
