Toothpaste Without Fluoride - Thoughts

What are your personal and professional goals for 2018?

  • Eat more?
  • Gain weight?
  • Work out twice a week?
  • Give back to THE community?
  • Get more experience in your sales career, and more satisfied clients?

While these are all fantastic, most likely no one mentioned having healthier teeth and gums. But everything would like to have greater dental health, right?

(Was that a silent “yes”? Awesome. Got it. Then here’s what you need to do to begin: Get rid of all fluoride in your toothpaste. Well, you asked!)

If you’ve been frustrated with the amounts of fluoride in your toothpaste, then please do not pull out all your hairs and --- instead --- buy from these brands:

  • Hello Oral Care
  • Himalaya Neem
  • Jason
  • Tom’s of Maine
  • Jack N’ Jill
  • Earth’s Best

And Guess what, parents? Getting your kids to brush their teeth can actually be fun, and here's how. Let us proudly present you with a few tips to get you started, unique "motivator" ideas that will help your children see this usually tedious everyday task as a fun activity altogether.

History of the First Commercially Modern Toothpaste Company, Its Use ---- & Beyond!

Sheffield began small and locally, started up faithfully in 1880 under the name of Sheffield Dentifrice Company. In 1886, however, all that changed as the company stepped forth under its new name: Sheffield Pharmaceuticals. The small company made this possible by merging with two other small companies of a similar nature.

It was a time in which honest sellers in the New London area were few and far between. Yet with the careful persistence and tireless dedication of a small team of investors new to the area, things began to look brighter, and local residents started to see a glimmer of hope in what they thought had been nothing more than a dream --- the possibility of attaining affordable toothpaste in numerous scopes, all while referring friends and family for greater discounts. Year by year, the future began to look brighter for the emerging company, and small offices were on the rise.

Pretty soon, potential agents themselves began to take interest, and the workforce grew. Now, the company stands as a leader among leaders. Thus, with the right plan, the right people, and time, anything can happen.

Any Recent Study Ongoing, to “Open Your Eyes” to the Truth?

Perhaps you’ve been to local mall market survey centers or even partaken in online focus groups, surveys, or questionnaires and seen a dental case study “outline” to this effect --- or something similar:

(Fictitious, Sample “Layout” Below:)

I. Purpose of the research study

Dr. Nathan Ryan and Dr Abby Flynt are professors in the Department of Oral Health at Bucknell University. You are invited to participate in a research study they and their students are conducting. The purpose of this research study is to measure and detect depression among fluoride users by doing linguistic and behavioral analyses of their toothpaste brands. The purpose of this study is not to medically diagnose or recommend treatment for depression. The study is solely for research purposes.

II. What you will be asked to do

If you decide to be in this study, you will be asked to fill out a standard, medically validated survey called Patient Health Questionnaire. If you decide to be in this study, you will be asked to share information related to your brushing habits with us so that we can analyze your fluoride usage. We expect that it will take less than 10 minutes to complete the survey. If you do not feel comfortable sharing particular information about this, please do not complete the survey.

III. Foreseeable risks or discomforts

There is minimal risk to participating in this study. You may feel uncomfortable answering questions related to dental health; however, the information you provide will be kept anonymous and you are free to withdraw from participation at any time. You are also free to not answer any questions that you do not feel comfortable answering.

IV. Benefits

While there may be no direct benefit to you from participating in this study, the indirect benefit of participating will be knowing that you helped researchers in a long-term research program to determine whether or not there are enough dental health services in a geographical area relative to the need for such services in that geographical area.

V. Confidentiality

Any information provided and/or identifying records will remain confidential and kept in a password-protected computer file in the researcher’s office for a maximum of five years. All data collected from you will be coded with a random number. The results of this research project may be made public and information quoted in professional journals and meetings, but information from this study will only be reported as a group, and not individually, for tax reporting purposes.

VI. Compensation

If you participate in the study, the researcher will give you $7.00 through your bank account.

VII. Voluntary Nature of this Research

Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. You do not have to do this, and you can refuse to answer any question or quit at any time. You can withdraw from this study at any time without penalty.

VIII. Contact Information

If you have any questions about this research, you may contact: Dr. John Hobbs at (570) 567-1242.

If you have any questions regarding the questionnaire, please contact Dr. Nathan Jones at (570) 587-1314.
