Which toothpaste squeezer is the best?  Well that depends on a lot on you and on your specific needs.  It also depends on how much you want to spend.  There is a huge variety of toothpaste squeezers out there all with different features and mechanisms.  They operate in a variety of different ways as well.  What feels right for one person may not feel right for another.  When you think of ‘best’, do you think of cheapest, simplest, most compact, or most effective.  Do you want something really fancy or super simple.  It is all up to you but there is not shortage different designs and models.  You can spend a couple dollars or a couple hundred dollars.

We are going to cover a bunch of different squeezers.  We have selected what we think are some of the best out of the hundreds that are available.  There are a few different main ways that these tend to operate.  I would divide them into these categories: squeezers, rollers, knob rollers, and contraptions.  The squeezers simply squeeze by forcing the tube through a slot.  The rollers roll the tube around  a bar.  The knob rollers are similar to normal rollers except that they incorporate a little knob and help guide the process (way better).  The contraption category includes anything that is a complicated mix of moving parts.  These usually include multiple wheels/bars and a hand crank or knob.

If you are looking for the simplest, most basic item there is, this is it.  These are the basic squeezer type.  They consist of basically just a slot.  They come in a pack of 5.  You may not need that many unless you have more than one person using different tubes of toothpaste.  Either that or you could use the extras for hand lotion or ointment or something.  They are not expensive so worst case, you could buy them and just not use the extra 4.  The picture shows 5 red squeezers but they are actually random so you may get all red or you may get all different colors.  You might even get all blue or something.  It is kind of a gamble if you care about the color.

These are almost exactly the same as the first item we reviewed.  The major difference is that they come in a pack of 2.  The colors still seem to be random.  Buy these if you want 2 instead of 5.

If you want the best value, this would be one of my top two choices.  Select this one in particular if you want it to be smaller, more compact, really simple, and really inexpensive.  If you want all of those things, this might be your best choice.  If you don’t mind paying a bit more for something that is more complicated and less compact, you might consider one of the contraption types.  They are ultimately better at squeezing toothpaste.

OK, this is about as simple as it gets.  It works and it isn’t bad.  I seems like a bit more effort than the other types though.  It is about the most compact you could get one of these things.  If you feel like this is right for you, then get it.  If not, most of the other options on this page are better.

This is our top pick.  Really it ties with the green knob roller we discussed previously.  This one is better at squeezing toothpaste tubes.  It isn’t as simple or compact and it might cost a tad more.  Personally, I think this is the one to go with.  It is way more effective and it has a definite coolness factor to it.  It is worth it just to see the tube getting crunched into a zig-zag pattern.  It is still simple enough that no not much can go wrong with it.  It is all metal and durable.   It is probably going to be one of the easier choices to work with as well.  The other contraption types are good too, maybe even equal.  This one was selected because it just feels better than the other affordable models that we reviewed.  It is much less expensive than the high end model.

These are about as good as any of the other squeezer types that we’ve reviewed here.  Everything I’ve said for them pretty much holds true.  The one thing I can say is that if you have kids and they like fun things like this, these can quickly slide into first place regardless of any of the other pros and cons.  So if you want a slider that your kids will like, get one of these.  On the other hand, there is a good chance that your kids will like watching you operate one of the contraption type toothpaste squeezers.

This is another contraption type toothpaste squeezer.  Everything we have covered for the other contraption type squeezer goes for this one as well.  It is a really nice, well built item.  This one almost looks a little more polished than the first one we looked at.  It really comes down to personal preference.  Between these two, whichever one feels right to you is what you should pick.

This is another knob roller type toothpaste tube squeezer.  To be fair, it is probably at least as good as the other plastic knob roller we reviewed above.  It may be a bit more durable and resistant to breaking.  I don’t like it as much.  This is probably at least partially because it doesn’t seem like it rolls as smoothly.  I could be wrong though.  It definitely seems less likely to crack or break.

This is another roller type toothpaste squeezer.  It basically has the same advantages and disadvantages as the other one we looked at above.  It might be a tiny bit better built.  It does come with a nice little cord in case you want to carry it around on your keychain and use it any time you encounter a tube of toothpaste.  I can’t imagine why else you would want the cord attached to it.  Either case, if a simple roller type is your thing, this is a great choice.

This is yet another contraption type toothpaste tube roller.  I could say almost all of the same things about this one.  It might actually be a bit more polished than either of the other two.  It doesn’t seem as solid as either of the others though.  It works great.  It is built tough and it will give you a neat looking, fully emptied tube of toothpaste when done.

These have most of the same advantages and disadvantages of the other squeezer types.  It stands out mostly because it is designed to look like a pair of lips.  I think this is pretty neat looking and I could see this being a good reason to buy these.  If you want something that looks like a pair of lips on your toothpaste tube, get these.  You are going to be looking it every day when you brush your teeth, you may as well have something you like looking at.  Besides the obvious visual design, these are also built out of a thick layer of plastic that seems extra strong.  This is another plus.  Interestingly enough these are probably the best, strongest, and most practical of all of the squeezer types.

As far as I can tell, this is the exact same thing that I have listed above but they are sold by a different vendor.  The main difference is that these comes in a 4 pack and have clearer pictures.  You can actually select how many you want with this one.  That isn’t a huge advantage since you could just order more than one of the other roller.  They don’t have nearly as many reviews.  The other one seems to be a better value.

If you want the fanciest toothpaste tube squeezer, this is it.  This one is very much on the high end.  Nothing else we have looked at will match it in terms of quality.  It is the most polished item we have looked at.  It is finely crafted without any rough edges.  You are not going to see any flaws with this one.  It is made from excellent quality materials.  This is not a cheap item.  This is the most expensive model we could find.  This is what you get if you want the best quality and don’t care how much you spend on it.  This is something you could actually put on display by itself and people might think it is purely decorative (it isn’t, its highly functional).  The only drawbacks, besides the price, are that it isn’t compact and it isn’t simple.  Note that it rolls smoothly but will not bend your tube in a neat zig-zag pattern like the other contraption types.  Yes, this one is going to squeeze out every last drop of toothpaste.  It isn’t just a fancy contraption, it is highly functional and will get the job done.

Choose Well

If you’ve made it to the bottom of this list and still want to read more, good for you, you’re doing your homework.  I would generally recommend something in either the contraption or the knob roller category depending on how complex you want it to be.  The plain squeezers are OK but don’t seem quite as good.  I would get one only if you just happen to really like the design (ex. cartoon animal for kids). The normal rollers are simple but require too much effort compared to the knob rollers.
